A nearly 100 years (established in 1910) old Organization, Bijapur Liberal District Education Association, affectionately referred to as BLDEA like many a large organizations had a humble beginning. But it had great visionary like PG Halakatti as founding father, great statesman like BM Patil as custodian.More over it always had the spiritual and moral blessings of seers like Shri Shantveer Swamijee of Babaleshwar and Poojya Banthanal Mahaswamijee. Over the last 90 plus years BLDEA has grown in to a sort of gigantic banyan tree with as many as 75 different organizations taking root under its wing, many of them large enough to be trees on their own right. Almost there is not a single level in the field of education that BLDEA has not involved. It has been almost omnipresent, starting from nurseries, to secondary to collegiate to professional to post graduate education. As an extension to its primary aim of imparting education BLDEA has been nurturing institutions and programs that render a variety of services to the community as well. For the rural underprivileged masses It runs a rural health centre and conducts frequent health check up camps. BLDEA's Shri BM Patil Medical College Hospital has grown in to a large, extensively equipped referral hospital.
