Central Library of Shri B M Patil Medical College was established in 1986. Apart from the main library it has also departmental libraries. The primary mission of the library is to support the educational and teaching programs of the college by providing physical and intellectual access to information; the library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for the faculty and student of the college and to serve as a resource center for the Health Science Information. The collection of the library which includes books, journals, dissertation and WHO reports. The annual budget of the library is over Rs. 60 Lakhs and  The library currently subscribed 129 periodical titles of which 85 are foreign journals. The Library also become member of HELINET consortium, through which Library has access to 360 fulltext electronic  journals and 780 ebooks.

The library has been computerized using the NewGenLib open source Integrated Library Management software with all the modules for the library housekeeping operations. The library OPAC database has more than 12 thousand records of books and 6000 back volumes of periodicals. Using OPAC, users can search the Library Catalogue by Author, Title, Subject, and keywords and also know the latest additions of books and periodicals.
