Our department was established in 1986 at Muncipal hospital later the department was shifted to the present premises in 1988.

Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology has adequate staff, space, equipments and clinical material.
Department has 3 units and 90 Beds distributed in Gynaecology, post-Operative, Antenatal and Post-natal wards. Silver Jubilee Hospital in the city is attached to this Department.

Department has all the equipment including Fetal Doppler, Colpo-microscopes, Laparoscopes and Electronic Fetal Monitors which would enable quality service to the patients and also aid in teaching.

PPTCT Centre is attached to the Labor Room where in HIV testing and administration of Nevirapine to HIV positive women and child is done round the clock, free of cost. In the Labor Room as well as Operation Theatre all universal precautions are taken to prevent transmission of communicable diseases from the mother to the child.
