With Six
Units, 200 beds, Critical care Unit, cardiac care Unit,
Departmental Library and adequate staff the Department of
Medicine is fully geared to provide proper patient care and
impart ideal student training.
The
Intensive Cardiac care Unit (ICCU) is housed in a centrally
air-conditioned hall, specifically built for the purpose.
Fully equipped with Pulse Oxymeters, Ventilators,
Defibrillators, Arterial Blood Gas Analyzer and Bed-side
X-Ray Units the ICCU is managed by specially trained doctors
and nursing staff, round the clock.
Echocardiography
Colour Doppler and Stress Tests with the Tread Mill help in
early detection of cardiac pathologies and thus improve
prognosis.
Nephrology
Wing with facilities for Dialysis has been recently started.
Research
has been a part of routine activities of the Department. The
Department has special research projects in the fields of
Malaria, HIV Infection, Diabetes, Coronary Artery Disease
and Tuberculosis.
The
Department runs special Diabetes Clinics every week where in
patients suffering from Diabetes are pooled in and are
investigated, treated and also educated about how to live
with Diabetes.
Post
graduates are especially encouraged in taking up research
and presentation of Papers in various platforms and
Journals. The Department itself has hosted a number of
Seminars, Symposia, and Conferences etc. Sate Conference of
API & CSI, Indo-British CME on Hepato-Biliary System,
Symposium on Malaria, Symposium on Allergic Respiratory
Diseases diabetes parliament are just a few to name
