The department has its own
class room, two demonstration rooms, laboratory,
departmental and a library.
The flagship of the department is its Museum. It is one of
the best museums in whole of south India. Hundreds of
painstakingly collected specimens, weapons are unique. The
Photography Collection is probably is the only one of its
kind so far as the number and variety of photographs are
considered. All these are framed and arranged topic-wise and
thus serve as the best teaching material.

The department runs a state of the art mortuary consisting
of two Autopsy Rooms and another for decomposed bodies, an
Inquest Room, Store Room, Doctors’ Room, Students’ Room and
a Waiting Room for the mourners. There is a Cold Storage
facility to store as many as 6 bodies.
The department provides autopsy and medico-legal services to
the government agencies. Ours is the second private medical
college having such services recognized by the government.
The head of the department has the credit of having worked
as Consultant Forensic Pathologist to the Government of
Jamaica.
Around 20 surgeons are already produced by this Department,
some of them have joined super specialty courses and some
are working as faculty members in the Department itself. |
