The department of dentistry comprises faculty with expertise in preventive and community dentistry, oral medicine and radiology. Academically the department provides for the teaching of maxillofacial specialty to the students of medical college. The methodology utilizes learning methods such as lectures, demonstrations, interactive seminars and research. The department is well equipped to facilitate interdisciplinary treatment of the medical college hospital patients. The department also compliments the research endeavors of medical college and research center.

The department has already achieved clinical proficiency and caters to the various treatment needs of the patients visiting the hospital. The treatments like Extractions, Disimpactions, Fillings, Pulpotomy, Rootcanal Treatment, Apicectomy, Oralprophylaxis, Gingivectomy, Gingivoplasty, Operculectomy, Coronoplasty, Splinting and Fracture reductions of the dentoalveolar complex are undertaken. Prosthesis required for the patients undergoing ENT surgeries are also made.
