Apart from teaching the staff & Post graduates take active part in presenting and publishing research papers. So for the department has presented fifty papers. Research publication on Brucellosis has been taken up as a textbook reference in Topley and Wildson’s Textbook of Microbiology.

The Department is involved in service sector too. Its clinical wing receives as many as 100 specimens per day for investigation. It is also active in national Programs like Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV and Revised Tuberculosis Control Program.
